French Country LifeThis is a painting of a rustic Normandy farm house during the eighteen hundreds. Until the advent of the railway, life in the region had changed little over the centuries. The Normandy countryside was quiet and dotted with farmhouses. Agriculture is still important in the region but now many farmers supplement their income by renting rooms to tourists eager to experience nature and the gentle rhythms of farm chores more closely.
